He was highly involved at the dental school and served as the Treasurer of the professional dental fraternity Alpha Omega. He moved to the Chicago area with his beautiful wife to start his professional career.
In 1984 Dr. Skale opened the doors to his practice in Northbrook and has been an integral part of the community ever since. Darryl may be better known as Coach Skale than Dr. Skale because any time not spent at the office or with his family is on the sidelines of the practice field.
He begain coaching for Northbrook youth soccer in 1989 and was a pioneer in developing a Girls Traveling Soccer Program in Northbrook He served as Director of Youth Soccer for the Park District from 2000-2006 and his commitment to youth soccer got him elected into the Northbrook Park District Hall of Fame in 2006. Believe it or not, he is still coaching today as an Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach, a position he has held for 20 years. Previously he stood as President of the Spartan FC soccer club for many years.
Coaching might be his favorite hobby, but it isn’t his profession. Dr. Skale is also known within the community as an excellent and caring dentist. He works hard to stay current by taking significant dental continuing education courses. Each year, Doctor spends time gaining clinical knowledge, refining his skills and learning how to better himself and his team at the office. He prides himself on having a “CLEAN” office with the best technology. Of course he is a member of the Academy of Sports Dentistry, but additionally he is involved with the American Dental Assocation, Illinois State Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society.
